‘Chantal Akerman : No Home Movies’ at The Cinematheque in Vancouver

From March 23 to April 29, The Cinematheque in Vancouver, Canada, will organise a retrospective series around Chantal Akerman’s work, titled ‘Chantal Akerman : No Home Movies’. This series will allow the public to (re)discover 18 of her movies, from her very first, Saute ma ville (1968), to her very last, No Home Movie (2015).

It couldn’t be a series on Chantal Akerman without, of course, a screening of Jeanne Dielman, 23, quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles (1975). The opening-night and first screening of the film, on March 26th, will be accompanied by a video introduction by Andréa Picard, co-curator of the 2019 restrospective ‘News From Home : The Films of Chantal Akerman’ at TIFF Cinematheque in Toronto.
