Chantal Akerman’s archives at KANAL

For their grand reopening, the art museum KANAL is organising an extensive exhibition called An Immense Journey. It will take the visitor through a 100 years of Centre Pompidou’s art pieces. In addtion to more than 350 works, there will also be work from Belgian public and private collections. Among those, will be some archives of Chantal Akerman, from three of her films.

From the opening on November 28 of this year, to the closing of the exhibition on January 9 2028, you will be able to see, in a rotation, some archives from D’Est (1993), Sud (1999) and De l’autre côté (2002). You will be able to discover photographs, behind the scenes, documents from the development of the films as well as some audiovisual archives.
