MoMA has always supported Chantal Akerman’s endeavors since Jeanne Dielman, 23, quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles, regularly inviting her and screening her films. So it comes as no surprise that after iterations at CINEMATEK in Brussels and at BFI southbank in London, it’s MoMA’s turn to pay homage to Chantal Akerman.
Beginning next Thursday September 11, the MoMA has programmed a complete retrospective of Akerman’s oeuvre, including films rarely screened in the US and many new restorations by CINEMATEK!
