Chantal Akerman: Travelling outlines the unique journey of Belgian filmmaker, writer, and artist Chantal Akerman (Brussels 1950 – Paris 2015). From the early beginnings in Brussels to various deserts, from her very first films to her last installations in 2015. Curated by Laurence Rassel this is the first major exhibition on the Brussels-based artist, featuring unique and previously unseen footage, production, as well as work documents from her archives.

With the release of the new Capricci Blu-ray boxset, Capricci is distributing a two-part retrospective showcasing Chantal Akerman’s restored oeuvre in cinema’s in France.
The first cycle will show her work from 1974 to 1993 and will be in theatres starting the 25th of septembre. The second cycle will handle 1996-2015 and starts the 23rd of octobre.

Akerman’s cinematic work is complemented by a significant body of written work, collected in great parts in this publication. Chantal Akerman. Œuvre écrite et parlée is dedicated to Akerman’s texts, including screenplays, synopses, intentions notes, texts for the voiceovers of her films. The editing has been entrusted to Cyril Béghin.
